Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1992:

Gatunek rozmieszczony w południowej, środkowej i wschodniej części Europy, na wschód przez Syberię docierający do Korei i Japonii. W Polsce rozwiertek Pfeila należy do rzadkości, notowany z nielicznych stanowisk w pięciu tylko krainach. Żeruje w drewnie olchy i osiki. Najczęściej spotykany w wywrotach olszy czarnej, której korzenie jeszcze obmywa woda. Od chodnika wejściowego, sięgającego niekiedy w głąb drzewa do 15 cm, rozchodzą się na boki 2-3 rozgałęzienia.
