Taxon description
Gatunek o niedostatecznie poznanym rozsiedleniu, wykazywany z Anglii południowej, Danii, południowej i środkowej części Francji, Włoch północnych i Algierii, poza tym nie sprawdzone dane o rozmieszczeniu pochodzą z Brandenburgii i Śląska. W Polsce z całą pewnością nie stwierdzony. Notowany ogólnikowo pod koniec ubiegłego stulecia ze Śląska, ale dane te nie znalazły później potwierdzenia. W spisie chrząszczy śląskich (Gerhardt 1910) brak omawianego gatunku. Rozwój larwalny odbywa w martwych, przegrzybiałych gałęziach dębu porośniętych owocnikami grzyba roztoczowego, powłócznika dębowego — Corticium quercinum (Pers.) Cke.
