Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony głównie w południowej i środkowej Europie, wykazywany również z Wysp Brytyjskich i z południowej części Szwecji. W Polsce rzadko spotykany, notowany z południowej części kraju oraz Pomorza. Poławiany pod korą i w murszejącym drewnie drzew liściastych (dąb, grab, wiąz, brzoza, buk, jesion), często w sąsiedztwie gniazd mrówek Lasius brunneus (Latr.) i Lasius fuliginosus (Latr.).
