Taxon description
Gatunek występujący głównie w zachodniej i środkowej części Europy, docierający na północ do Danii i południowej Skandynawii. W Polsce należy do rzadkości; notowano go z nielicznych stanowisk w czterech tylko krainach, przy czym dane o występowaniu tego ryjkowca na Mazowszu nie znalazły potwierdzenia okazami dowodowymi (S. Smreczyński 1960). Bionomia poznana fragmentarycznie. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano na martwych gałęziach i gałązkach dębów — Quercus L., olsz — Alnus Mill., grabu zwyczajnego — Carpinus betulus L., leszczyny — Corylus avellana L. i wrzosu zwyczajnego — Calluna vulgaris (L.) Salisb.
