Taxon description

Heintze 1990:

Rzadki ten motyl, znany u nasz niewielu okolic kraju pojawia się od połowy VII do końca IX. Gąsienice żerują na wiosnę — od IV do VI przede wszystkim na wierzbach i jabłoniach, a także na tarninie, osice, wiązie i innych drzewach i krzewach liściastych. Poczwarka przebywa w oprzędzie na ziemi między liśćmi. Zimuje jajo.
