Taxon description
Szeroko rozmieszczony gatunek palearktyczny, w Europie rozsiedlony od południowych krańców aż do 64° szer. geogr. północnej, znany też z północnej Afryki, z wysp Madery i Azorów, Azji Mniejszej, Kaukazu i zachodniej Syberii. Żyje na glebach różnych typów, głównie na miejscach otwartych, ale wilgotnych, ocienionych trawami lub bylinami, rzadziej spotykany na terenach leśnych. W Polsce znany z całego obszaru nizinnego i pogórzy, w górach rzadziej znajdowany.
