Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w południowej części Palearktyki, w Europie głównie w jej części zachodniej i w krajach śródziemnomorskich. W Polsce znany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk. Występuje na terenach nizinnych i w niższych położeniach górskich, przeważnie na stanowiskach kserotermicznych. Znajdowany pod rozkładającymi się szczątkami roślinnymi, ekskrementami i na wyciekającym soku z drzew liściastych.
