Taxon description
Gatunek o niedostatecznie poznanym rozmieszczeniu; notowany z północnego obszaru ZSRR, Europy środkowej oraz z Francji wschodniej i środkowej. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko i sporadycznie poławiany, znany z nielicznych stanowisk w pięciu krainach. Występuje w obszarach nizinnych na piaszczystych wybrzeżach wód. Postacie dojrzałe spotykano w ciągu całego roku w humusie, pod rozkładającymi się szczątkami roślinnymi, wśród mchów, pod napływkami i wyrzuconymi przez fale morskie na brzeg morszczynami oraz zimujące osobniki w łodygach trzcin.
