Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1987:

Gatunek o niedostatecznie poznanym rozsiedleniu, notowany z nielicznych stanowisk w Europie Południowej (prócz Półwyspu Bałkańskiego) oraz w południowej części Europy środkowej. W Polsce chrząszcz należy do wielkich rzadkości, wykazany dotychczas tylko z dwu krain, przy czym dawne dane, sprzed przeszło stu lat, o występowaniu omawianego gatunku na Nizinie Mazowieckiej, winny być potwierdzone nowymi materiałami. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano wiosną na pobrzeżach wód, w próchnicy, napływkach i pod rozkładającymi się szczątkami roślinnymi.
