Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony w środkowej i południowo-wschodniej części Europy, na wschód docierający do Azji Środkowej. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko spotykany, znany dotychczas z nielicznych stanowisk w czterech krainach południowych. Stanowi on element charakterystyczny dla środowisk suchych, jałowych, niemal pozbawionych roślinności. Jako roślina żywicielska podawany jest wilczomlecz sosnka — Euphorbia cyparissias L.
