Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Motyl spotykany pojedynczo w środowiskach lasów mieszanych, parkach, ogrodach i różnych miejscach rzadziej zadrzewionych, lata od końca IX do końca XI. Gąsienice żerują w V i VI na wielu gatunkach drzew liściastych, jak lipa, grab, dąb, buk, wierzba, topola, głóg, drzewa owocowe i inne. Poczwarki leżą w ziemi w słabych oprzędach. Gatunek zimuje w stadium jaj.
