Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w całej Europie, notowany również z Afryki Północnej i Ameryki Północnej. W Polsce znany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk zarówno na niżu, jak i w górach. Według K. Letznera (1884g) nie należy do fauny śląskiej. Pogląd ten okazał się jednak niesłuszny, gdyż później gatunek ten był kilkakrotnie notowany ze Śląska Dolnego. Spotykany w lasach wśród mchów, w ściółce, niekiedy pod napływkami i w gniazdach mrówek Formica rufa L.
