Taxon description
Gatunek zewnętrznie nadzwyczaj podobny do pokrewnego Atheta (Dimetrota) picipennis (Mannerheim). Kusak o niedostatecznie poznanym rozmieszczeniu — prawdopodobnie element borealno-alpejski. Opisany z jednego stanowiska w Szwecji i dwu stanowisk w Norwegii oraz ogólnie z Siedmiogrodu, wykazywany następnie z nielicznych miejscowości w Fennoskandii, przy czym w Norwegii dociera do skrajnych prowincji północnych. Notowany też z Tyrolu i ogólnikowo z Karpat (Benick i Lohse, 1974). W Polsce dopiero niedawno odkryty w Bieszczadach — dotąd nigdzie nie znajdowany. Wymagania ekologiczne nie znane — w Szwecji okazy typowe znaleziono w górnej strefie lasu, w ekskrementach łosia.
