Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1986c:
Zamieszkuje głównie środkową część Europy, docierając na zachód do południowej Francji i północnej Hiszpanii; jest notowany ponadto z Kaukazu. W Polsce jest dość rzadko i na ogół pojedynczo spotykany, choć nie jest jeszcze znany z niektórych krain — występuje na terenach nizinnych i w niższych położeniach górskich prawdopodobnie wszędzie. Bionomia omawianego gatunku jest poznana niedostatecznie. Postacie dojrzałe są zwykle poławiane w maju i czerwcu na nasłonecznionych ścianach starych budynków drewnianych, na ściankach lessowych z gniazdami błonkówek oraz przy wyciekającym soku z pni drzew. Larwy zasiedlają gniazda rozmaitych błonkówek z rodzajów Bombus Latr., Anthophora Latr., Osmia Panz. oraz Colletes inoxpectatus Nosk.
