Taxon description

Heintze 1990:

Najpospolitszy motyl z grupy błyszczek, zaliczany do szkodników pól i ogrodów warzywnych, występuje w dwu pokoleniach, niekiedy masowo. Pierwsze pokolenie przylatuje z południa od V do VII, drugie, reprezentowane przez osobniki potomne wyklute w kraju, od VII do XI. Wielożerne gąsienice, żerujące od VI do VIII i w pokoleniu zimującym od XI do V na roślinach zielnych, spotykane są wszędzie, zwłaszcza na uprawach, gdzie często wyrządzają szkody. Budują oprzędy dla przepoczwarczenia się, podobnie do gatunków poprzednich (Autographa confusa, Chrysaspidia festucae).
