Taxon description
Gatunek zachodniopalearktyczny, rozmieszczony w Europie aż do koła podbiegunowego, znany poza tym z północnej Afryki, Azji Mniejszej i Kaukazu. Żyje na wilgotnych glebach gliniastych lub piaszczysto-gliniastych, głównie nad brzegami wód płynących, spotykany jednak również na pobrzeżach glinianek, a nawet na obszarach leśnych. W Polsce częstszy na południu kraju, w górach sięga do piętra kosodrzewiny.
