Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1985:

Gatunek zamieszkujący środkową i północną część Europy, docierający w Fennoskandii do około 64° szer. geogr.; notowany też z Syberii. W Polsce znany z nielicznych rozproszonych miejscowości w różnych częściach kraju, przy czym wiele danych o rozmieszczeniu opartych jest na znaleziskach z ubiegłego stulecia. Jest poławiany na terenach nizinnych i w niższych położeniach górskich na pobrzeżach lasu i polanach śródleśnych. Pojaw postaci dojrzałych rozpoczyna się w kwietniu i trwa do sierpnia — najczęściej spotyka się chrząszcze w maju i w czerwcu.

Cantharis pellucida jest jednym z najbardziej eurytopowych gatunków omomiłków, przy czym najliczniejsze populacje spotykane są w środowiskach ekotonowych, na skrajach lasów, w zagajnikach śródpolnych, a także w parkach miejskich. Występuje w całej Polsce, w górach nie przekracza górnej granicy lasów regla dolnego. Biologię dokładnie opracował Beling (1885), a Janssen (1963) podał szczegółowe dane dotyczące czasu trwania poszczególnych stadiów rozwojowych i opisał budowę form przedlarwalnych, larwalnych, poczwarki i imago.
Występuje prawie w całej Europie, na północy po środkową Skandynawię, na wschodzie sięga po Syberię, na południu notowany z Włoch.
