Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w niemal całej Europie (nie znany z Wysp Brytyjskich), notowany ponadto z Azji Mniejszej i Kaukazu. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk, głównie w południowej części kraju. Zasiedla tereny nizinne i górzyste, występuje zwłaszcza w dolinach rzecznych i na pobrzeżach potoków. Dociera do wysokości około 2000 m n.p.m. Przeważnie jest poławiany w maju, a pojedynczo już w kwietniu.
Gatunek borealno-górski, występujący w górach środkowej Europy, w Małej Azji, na Kaukazie, na Litwie i w Fennoskandii. Stanowiska niżowe z Polski nie zostały w ostatnich latach potwierdzone i prawdopodobnie już nie istnieją.
