Taxon description
Gatunek pospolity, łatwy do zaobserwowania szczególnie w stadium gąsienicy. Motyl lata w dwu pokoleniach: od V do VII i w VIII i IX. Gąsienice, pospolicie spotykane na łąkach i brzegach lasów żerują na wielu gatunkach roślin jak koniczyna, wierzba, wiciokrzew i inne od VII do X. Zimują poczwarki, zakopane w ziemi. Szkodnik ogrodów i upraw łąkowych. Gąsienice mają dwojakie ubarwienie: jedne są w zielone i żółte pasy, inne w czerwonofioletowe i żółte pasy.
