Taxon description
Dość pospolity gatunek, rozmieszczony szeroko w całej prawie Europie (z wyjątkiem północnych krańców), wykazywany również z Azji Mniejszej, Kaukazu i Syberii. Zasiedla na pobrzeżach wód stojących i wolno płynących gleby gliniaste i piaszczysto-gliniaste, silnie ocienione, żyje tylko na miejscach wilgotnych, zwykle w bliskim sąsiedztwie wody, często w towarzystwie Agonum (Agonum) marginatum (L.).
