Taxon description
Gatunek szeroko rozmieszczony od Wysp Brytyjskich i Fennoskandii przez Francję i środkową Europę aż do północnych Włoch i północnej części Półwyspu Bałkańskiego, a na wschód po Ural. W Polsce z wyjątkiem wysokich gór, występuje prawdopodobnie wszędzie, ale brak udokumentowanych danych z wielu krain. Najczęściej znajdowany jest w pobliżu wód w norach gryzoni (także kretów), niekiedy spotykany w przedsionkach jaskiń.
