Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1992:
Gatunek szeroko rozprzestrzeniony w Europie, na północy sięgający daleko poza koło podbiegunowe, notowany ponadto z Azji Mniejszej. W Polsce występuje od Bałtyku aż po Tatry. Chrząszcz biologicznie związany z sosną pospolitą. Samica składa jaja w maju do kwiatostanów męskich. Larwa dorosła w czerwcu opuszcza kwiatostan i spada na glebę, w której odbywa przeobrażenie. Postacie dojrzałe ukazują się w kwietniu i zwykle poławiano je do czerwca na młodych pędach.
