Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1997:
Gatunek zasiedlający głównie zachodnią, południową i środkową część Europy, docierający na północ do Danii, południowej Skandynawii i Finlandii; notowany ponadto z Algierii, Maroka i Kaukazu. W Polsce wykazany z trzynastu krain, przy czym dane o występowaniu tego ryjkowca na Śląsku Dolnym i Górnym oraz w Sudetach Wschodnich opierają się na znaleziskach z ubiegłego stulecia, dlatego też wymagają potwierdzenia nowymi materiałami. Żyje na dębach — Quercus L., zwłaszcza na dębie szypułkowym — Q. robur L. Spotykany przeważnie na nasłonecznionych pobrzeżach lasu.
