Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony w prawie całej Europie z wyjątkiem Półwyspu Iberyjskiego i północnych prowincji Fennoskandii, na wschód przez Syberię docierający do Amuru, notowany ponadto z Azji Mniejszej. W Polsce wykazywany z nielicznych, przeważnie pojedynczych stanowisk w niewielu krainach. Zasiedla drzewa iglaste i liściaste, na których poławiano go w zmurszałym drewnie i w chodnikach korników: Ips typographus (L.) — kornik drukarz, Ips sexdentatus (Boern.) — kornik sześciozębny, Pityogenes quadridens (Hartig) — rytownik czterozębny, Polygraphus poligraphus (L.) — czterooczak świerkowiec, Orthotomicus laricis (Fabr.) — korniczek wielozębny, oraz gatunków należących do rodzajów Taphrorychus Eichh. — roztoczek i Pteleobius Bedel — pstrak.
