Taxon description
Gatunek rozmieszczony w południowo-wschodniej i środkowej części Europy, docierający na północ do południowych prowincji Fennoskandii, a na wschód do Uralu. W obrębie areału gatunkowego w miarę posuwania się z zachodu na wschód jest coraz częściej spotykany. W Polsce, choć nie jest jeszcze znany z niektórych krain, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Zasiedla lasy mieszane i iglaste. Bionomia tego gatunku jest poznana niedostatecznie, również niższe stadia rozwojowe dotychczas nie są opisane. Postacie dojrzałe ukazują się w drugiej połowie kwietnia i loty ich w czasie pogodnych dni słonecznych były obserwowane do lipca. Najczęściej chrząszcze poławiano na kwitnących sosnach oraz na rosnących w sąsiedztwie dębach, głogach i roślinności zielnej, a także na ściętych gałęziach sosnowych leżących na porębach. Piśmiennictwo podaje bez bliższych danych, że larwy żerują w sosnach, rzadziej w jodłach i modrzewiach, a przepoczwarczenie prawdopodobnie odbywa się w glebie.
