Taxon description
Gatunek europejski, rozprzestrzeniony w południowej i środkowej części kontynentu, docierający na wschód do Uralu Południowego. Zasiedla głównie tereny górskie i podgórza, ale w środkowej Europie występuje lokalnie na stanowiskach nizinnych. W Polsce znany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk w różnych częściach kraju. Gatunek ten ekologicznie związany jest z drzewami liściastymi. Bionomia jego jest poznana niedostatecznie, a niższe postacie rozwojowe dotychczas nie zostały opisane. Imagines pojawiają się w maju i przeżywają do ostatnich dni czerwca. W znanym piśmiennictwie obcym brak danych o rozwoju C. humeralis (Schall.), dlatego też podaje się tutaj obserwacje z Polski. L. F. Hildt (1917) podaje, że larwa żyje pod korą pieńka dębu, a chrząszcz na kwiatach dębu, graba i wiązu. Autor ten znalazł 31 III w szparze kory pniaka dębu poczwarkę, z której wylęgło się imago 20 IV. W badaniach własnych ze znalezionej 23 XII larwy, będącej w stanie hibernacji płytko w glebie pod warstwą mchu, w sąsiedztwie rosnącego dębu, uzyskano w warunkach hodowli laboratoryjnej już 26 I poczwarkę, a 7 II wylągł się chrząszcz (B. Burakowski*).
