Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący środkową część Europy oraz zachodnie obszary w europejskiej części byłego ZSRR, notowany też z Włoch. Wgryzoń modrzewiowiec jest w Polsce rzadko spotykany, znany dotychczas z nielicznych stanowisk tylko w pięciu krainach. Jedynym znanym żywicielem jest modrzew. Opada zazwyczaj usychające gałęzie i młode drzewka. Żerowiska w kształcie komór, częściowo tylko w bielu. W ciągu roku ma jedno pokolenie.
