Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony w niemal całej Europie prócz skrajnych części północnych. W Polsce występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich, jednak brak jeszcze danych o jego występowaniu w wielu krainach. W rejonach podgórskich gatunek ten jest znacznie pospolitszy od pokrewnego C. sericeus (L.). Występuje na łąkach, przydrożach, pobrzeżach lasu i polanach śródleśnych. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano od maja do września, głównie na żółto kwitnących roślinach z rodziny złożonych — Compositae i jaskrowatych — Ranunculaceae.
