Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w południowej, zachodniej i środkowej części Europy; wykazywany również z Wysp Brytyjskich i południowych prowincji Skandynawii oraz z Kaukazu. W Polsce notowany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk w różnych częściach kraju, tylko na Śląsku Dolnym częściej poławiany. Rozwój odbywa się w drewnie gałęzi opanowanych przez białą zgniliznę oraz pod korą gałęzi krzewów i drzew liściastych (głogu, leszczyny, tarniny, dębu). Larwy zimują, przepoczwarczenie następuje na wiosnę. Postacie dojrzałe są poławiane od maja do lipca przeważnie na kwitnących roślinach.
