Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony w niemal całej Europie z wyjątkiem skrajnych obszarów południowych; notowany również z Azji Środkowej i Syberii Zachodniej. W Polsce występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Zasiedla pobrzeża wód. Rozwój odbywa w jeżogłówce gałęzistej — Sparganium ramosum Huds. Postacie dojrzałe spotyka się od maja do października na różnych roślinach nadwodnych, jak manny — Glyceria R. Br., strzałki — Sagittaria L., jeżogłówki — Sparganium L. i turzyce — Carex L.
