Taxon description
Gatunek zasiedlający znaczną część zachodniej Palearktyki, występujący od Wysp Brytyjskich aż po Azję Środkową; w Europie na północ dociera do południowych prowincji Fennoskandii, a na południe do Francji południowej, północnych Włoch i Grecji. W Polsce, aczkolwiek nie znany jeszcze z wielu krain, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Rozwój larwalny odbywa na korzeniach jeżogłówek — Sparganium L., pałki — Typha L. i trzciny — Phragmites Adans. Postacie dojrzałe spotyka się od maja do lipca, zwłaszcza na pałce wąskolistnej — Typha angustifolia L.
