Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący środkową i północną część Europy, sięgający w Szwecji daleko poza koło podbiegunowe; ponadto wykazywany z Syberii i Hiszpanii. W Polsce, chociaż nie jest jeszcze znany z niektórych krain, występuje prawdopodobnie w całym kraju prócz wyższych partii górskich. Występuje głównie na topoli osice — Populus tremula L., rzadziej na topoli czarnej — P. nigra L. Postacie dojrzałe spotykano na drzewach, pod obluźnioną korą i w jej szczelinach oraz w ściółce liściastej pod drzewami. Larwy żerują w części osiowej żeńskich pączków kwiatowych.
