Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Gatunek rozpowszechniony w północnej i środkowej części Europy, w Fennoskandii docierający do skrajnych prowincji północnych, notowany ponadto z Półwyspu Iberyjskiego i Włoch. W Polsce notowany głównie z południowej części; dane o rozmieszczeniu na północy opierają się na znaleziskach sprzed przeszło stu lat i wymagają potwierdzenia. Żyje w zimnych strumieniach i małych rzekach na obszarach górzystych, rzadziej spotykany na terenach nizinnych. Poławiany pod kamieniami i wśród mchów wodnych.
