Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony od południowych prowincji Pennoskandii przez całą środkową Europę aż do Francji, środkowych Włoch, Albanii, Grecji i Ukraińskiej SRR. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko spotykany, znany głównie z południowej części kraju, przy czym większość danych o rozmieszczeniu opiera się na znaleziskach z ubiegłego lub początku bieżącego wieku. Postacie dorosłe ukazują się we wrześniu i po przezimowaniu bywają poławiane do maja pod wilgotną korą i przy płynącym soku z wielu gatunków drzew liściastych. Larwy odbywają rozwój pod odstającą korą i w wyciekającym soku.
