Taxon description
Gatunek ograniczony głównie do Europy Środkowej, na północ sięga do środkowej części Fennoskandii. W Polsce dość rzadko spotykany, wzmianki o występowaniu w niektórych krainach pochodzą sprzed stu i więcej lat. Omyłkowo wykazany z okolic Przemyśla przez T. Trellę (1926) na podstawie błędnego oznaczenia Harpalus (Harpalus)progrediens Schaub. (J. Makólski*). Występuje głównie na glebach piaszczystych, notowany zarówno z otwartych terenów jak i obszarów leśnych.
