Taxon description
Gatunek o szerokim rozsiedleniu. Zamieszkuje prawie całą Europę i Syberię, na północy sięga daleko poza koło podbiegunowe, wykazywany nadto z Kaukazu i Japonii. Zasiedla nasłonecznione gleby piaszczyste oraz obszary morenowe. Spotykany przeważnie na otwartych terenach, rzadziej w jasnych lasach iglastych. Prowadzi skryty sposób życia w ciągu dnia, ukrywając się w powierzchniowej warstwie ziemi lub pod płożącymi roślinami.
