Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1986c:
Gatunek rozmieszczony głównie w południowej i środkowej części Europy, docierający na północ do Danii, Holandii, Belgii i południowych prowincji Szwecji, wykazywany ponadto z Kaukazu. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadko spotykany, notowany tylko z dwu krain. Rozwój larwalny trwa co najmniej dwa lata. Materiałem lęgowym jest głównie drewno suchych gałęzi w koronach drzew, tylców po złomach oraz suchych, leżących na ziemi gałęzi buków, rzadziej dębów i olch. Przepoczwarczenie następuje na jesieni i postacie dojrzałe zimują, pojawiając się na powierzchni drewna w maju. Chrząszcze przeżywają do lipca.
