Taxon description
Gatunek alpejski, rozprzestrzeniony w górach środkowej Europy i północnym Bałkanie, notowany również z Pirenejów. Występuje głównie ponad górną granicą lasów w bajorkach, mokradłach i rozlewiskach strumyków i potoków oraz w pobliżu pól śniegowych w kałużach i rozlewiskach, powstałych z topniejącego śniegu. Rzadko spotykany w górskich jeziorach i stawach.
