Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony w południowej i środkowej części Europy, notowany ponadto z Algierii i Maroka. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko spotykany, znany z nielicznych stanowisk w jedenastu krainach. Pojaw postaci dojrzałych przypada na maj i spotykano je do września na sosnach, dębach, brzozach i olszach. Od czerwca do połowy sierpnia samice składają jaja do młodych pędów sosny. Larwy żerują w pędach i zimują w nich, wiosną wypadają na glebę, w której odbywają przeobrażenie.
