Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący południową i środkową część Europy; wykazywany też z Danii i Kaukazu. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk rozproszonych w różnych częściach kraju. Ryjkowiec ten zasiedla dąb szypułkowy — Quercus robur L. i dąb bezszypułkowy — Q. sessilis Ehrh. Larwy żerują i odbywają rozwój w cienkich gałęziach.
