Taxon description
Gatunek występujący w południowej Europie oraz w południowej części Europy Środkowej, wykazywany nadto z Kaukazu, Azji Mniejszej, Syberii i Bliskiego Wschodu. W Polsce należy do wielkich rzadkości, znany tylko z dwu stanowisk na południu kraju. Jako roślinę żywicielską większość źródeł podaje pieprzycznik przydrożny — Cardaria draba (L.) Desv. Roślina ta została zawleczona do Europy Środkowej (również do nas) z południa, rośnie na niżu w pobliżu dróg, rowów, na polach i rumowiskach. Omawiany chrząszcz prawdopodobnie również przesuwa się na północ wraz ze swą rośliną żywicielską, to też należy się spodziewać, że będzie odkryty i w innych niżowych krainach.
