Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony w południowej, zachodniej i środkowej Europie, wykazywany nadto z Wysp Kanaryjskich, Kaukazu, Syrii i Palestyny. W Polsce rzadko i sporadycznie spotykany, notowany tylko z pięciu krain. Larwy tego gatunku rozwijają się w kwiatach szanty zwyczajnej — Marrubium vulgare L., postać dojrzała przezimowuje w glebie, a na wiosnę chrząszcze spotykane są na kwiatach czosnaczka pospolitego — Alliaria afficinalis Andrz., świerzbnicy polnej — Knautia arvensis (L.) Coult. i innych roślin z rodzaju mniszek — Taraxacum Zinn.
