Taxon description
Gatunek rozpowszechniony w prawie całej Europie prócz północnych prowincji Fennoskandii, notowany poza tym z Afryki Północnej, Kaukazu i Azji Mniejszej. W Polsce, chociaż nie znany jeszcze ze wszystkich krain, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Zamieszkuje tereny nizinne i pogórza, zasiedlając ciepłe stanowiska na pobrzeżach lasu, zboczach pagórków, przydrożach i miedzach. Rozwój larwalny odbywa w łodygach bylin. Jako rośliny żywicielskie piśmiennictwo podaje by lice polną — Artemisia campestris L., lebiodkę pospolitą — Origanum vulgare L. oraz bylinę należącą do rodzaju kozłek — Valeriana L. Postacie dojrzałe ukazują się w czerwcu i poławiano je do sierpnia na różnych roślinach zielnych i bylinach, zwłaszcza by licach — Artemisia L.
