Taxon description
Gatunek szeroko rozprzestrzeniony w prawie całej Europie (prócz północnych części Fennoskandii), wykazywany też z Kaukazu i Dagestanu. W Polsce występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Bionomia i cykl rozwojowy poznane są słabo. Postacie dojrzałe ukazują się wiosną i poławiano je do lipca na głogach — Crataegus L., dereniach — Cornus L., roślinach z rodziny baldaszkowatych (Umbelliferae) oraz na trawach, pniach i pniakach. W Szwecji wyhodowano chrząszcze z martwego drewna iwy — Salix caprea L.
