Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
W środowiskach drzew liściastych występujący motyl lata w III i IV. Gąsienice, spotykane pojedynczo na wielu gatunkach drzew liściastych, jak dąb, lipa, topola, olcha, osika, tarnina i wierzba oraz drzewa owocowe żyją od V do początku VII. Prowadzą one ukryty tryb życia i dzień spędzają schowane pomiędzy liśćmi, w miejscach zacienionych. Przepoczwarczenie następuje pod powierzchnią ziemi. Motyle odznaczają się wielką zmiennością ubarwienia i rysunku.
