Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1993:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w środkowej części Europy, na zachód docierający do Szwajcarii i Francji, a na wschód do ukraińskich Karpat, notowany ponadto z zachodniej i północnej części Półwyspu Bałkańskiego. Zasiedla tereny nizinne i górzyste. W Polsce notowany tylko z krain południowych, zarówno z terenów górzystych jak i nizinnych. Zasiedla głównie pobrzeża lasów, zarośla stepowe i suche murawy, rzadziej spotykany na łąkach. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano od połowy kwietnia do października; żeruje na liściach, nagryzając ich brzegi w charakterystyczny, karbowany sposób. Jako rośliny żywicielskie były wymieniane; róże — Rosa L., macierzanki — Thymus L., krwiściąg mniejszy — Sanguisorba minor Scop., pięciornik wiosenny — Potentilla verna L. i poziomka twardawa — Fragaria viridis Duch.; wykazywany ponadto z krzewów i drzew liściastych, w Polsce zwłaszcza z dębów (S. Smreczyński 1966), notowany też jako szkodnik śliw i winorośli.
