Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1993:
Gatunek europejski rozprzestrzeniony głównie w górach, od Karpat do Pirenejów, wykazywany nadto ze Szkocji i Sycylii. Występuje głównie w dolinach górskich, sięgając do strefy subalpejskiej, znane są też stanowiska nizinne. W Polsce notowany z pięciu krain południowych oraz oderwanego stanowiska niżowego w okolicy Warszawy. W Karpatach zachodnich występuje forma typowa, a w Bieszczadach O. morio ab. ebeninus Gyll. Ogólnikowo wykazany ze Śląska, ale L. Dieckmann (1980) wątpi o jego występowaniu na tym obszarze. Zasiedla głównie wilgotne i błotniste środowiska. Postacie dojrzałe żerują na liściach lepiężnika różowego — Petasites officinalis Moench i szczawiu alpejskiego — Rumex alpinus L. Cykl rozwojowy nie jest znany.
