Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1983:
Szeroko rozmieszczony gatunek od Wysp Brytyjskich i skrajnych prowincji północnych Fennoskandii aż do Hiszpanii północnej i Włoch. W Polsce, choć nieznany jeszcze z wielu krain, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Zamieszkuje tereny nizinne i podgórza, gdzie występuje w jeziorach, rzekach i większych strumieniach. Poławiany wśród mchów porastających kamienie, a nawet w bystrym nurcie rzeki i w górnej części litoralu jeziora.
