Taxon description
Gatunek eurosyberyjski, kontynentalny, rozsiedlony w niemal całej Europie od północnej Fennoskandii i Karelii. W miarę posuwania się na południe i zachód przyjmuje charakter górski lub subalpejski, nie docierając do obszaru nadatlantyckiego. W Polsce występuje prawdopodobnie w całym kraju prócz wyższych partii górskich. Zasiedla martwe i przegrzybiałe drewno, zarówno stojących jak i powalonych drzew iglastych i liściastych; larwy rozwijają się również w starych, przegrzybiałych wyrobach z drewna, belkach, słupach i nie impregnowanych podkładach kolejowych. Postacie dojrzałe bywają poławiane pod obluźnioną korą, w zmurszałym drewnie i na starych hubach.
