Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1987:
Gatunek europejski, rozmieszczony od Anglii, Danii, południowych prowincji Szwecji i Finlandii przez całą Europę środkową, aż do Hiszpanii, Włoch, Dalmacji, Albanii i Siedmiogrodu. W Polsce stosunkowo rzadko spotykany. Zasiedla głównie tereny nizinne i przedgórza. Występuje w suchym, zmurszałym drewnie drzew liściastych, zwłaszcza w pniach dębu porażonego grzybem pasożytniczym, żółciakiem siarkowym — Laetiporus sulphureus (Bull. ex Fr.) Murr. Cykl rozwojowy jednoroczny. Larwy żerują w miałkim, brunatnym próchnie, często także w opuszczonych chodnikach kołatków z rodzaju Dorcatoma Herbst. Przepoczwarczenie następuje w sierpniu. Postacie dojrzałe przezimowują niekiedy gromadnie w przegrzybiałym drewnie w dziuplach drzew.
